About Todd Snyder
Todd Snyder (5/14/1960) is a self-taught oil painter from East Peoria, IL. And has been painting professionally since 1986. He received an Associates Degree in Commercial Art from the Rocky Mountain College of Art & Design, Denver, CO. in 1986 and since that time has resided in Central Illinois.
Since 1989 Snyder has had works accepted into over 250 international, national and regional competitions/exhibitions and has received many awards including First Place Award-Oils, Sodarco Montreal International Spring Contest, Quebec, Canada 1993. Museum Purchase Award,
"Impressions" exhibition, Blanden Memorial Art Museum, Fort Dodge, IA. 2002, Purchase Awards 1992, '94 and Awards of Excellence 1993,'95,'04 at the national annual Galex exhibitions, Galesburg Civic Art Center, Galesburg, IL. among others and has had 10 solo exhibitions locally since 1990 with the most current being at Illinois Central College, October, 2010.
Snyder combines elements of surrealism with the local industrial landscape to create a style of "Industrial Surrealism" in his paintings.
